As the COP28 approaches, which will take place in Dubai at the end of the month, a coalition of NGOs has warned about the accreditation of more than 7,200 lobbyists linked to fossil fuels in international climate conferences over the past twenty years. The main oil giants are particularly targeted.

Like parasites, lobbyists infiltrate the COP every year to sabotage negotiations. According to an analysis released on Tuesday, November 21 by a coalition of NGOs called “Kick Big Polluters Out” (KBPO), more than 7,200 accreditations have been issued since 2003 by the UN Climate to people openly linked to the fossil fuel industry to attend international climate conferences.
