Relationship between Russia, UAE developing: Putin

Russian President hails developing relations with the UAE during a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of SPIEF.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said, on Friday, that relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates are developing successfully, stressing that they are mutually beneficial to both countries.

At a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Putin said that “the UAE is a very good comfortable partner for us. Relations between Russia and the Emirates are developing very successfully… the main thing is that they benefit both Russia and the UAE.”

It is worth noting that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Elsewhere in his remarks, Putin noted that he will tackle the situation in the region during his meeting with Al Nahyan.

On his account, Al Nahyan expressed UAE’s willingness to contribute in every possible way to resolving the war in Ukraine.

“As for Ukraine … if the UAE can play any other role in stabilizing the situation, in humanitarian matters, we are ready to assist this in every possible way,” Al Nahyan said.

Earlier, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov revealed that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in St. Petersburg on Friday and is scheduled to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The official also confirmed that the talks between the leaders will take place “immediately before the [SPIEF] plenary session,” noting that the two presidents “developed trusting, constructive relationships.”

The UAE delegation has been considered one of the most representative delegations at this year’s SPIEF.

The SPIEF is scheduled to take place from June 14-17, as per RIA Novosti.
