BOYCOTT OF COP28: FRENCH COMPANIES DIVIDED OVER THEIR PRESENCE IN DUBAI

Should we boycott COP28? The question is increasingly being raised by a large number of French entrepreneurs. For 250 of them, the answer is clear: they will not attend. This positioning raises questions less than three weeks before the opening of this new climate conference, which will be held this year in Dubai from November 30th to December 12th.

The COP list is complete. 250 business leaders and association leaders* are calling for a boycott of the upcoming United Nations climate summit, which will be held from November 30th to December 12th in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the “fifth largest CO2 emitter on the planet.” An event that they do not hesitate to describe as “absurd” and “dangerous,” in a column published in Le Monde on September 30th.
